HOT SOCKS BIG BAND
The Hot Socks Big Band plays the music that we don’t always know in sock-wearing style and flair. With programs of lesser known music and the stories behind this music, The Hot Socks Big Band performs with vibrancy, energy and emotion. The Hot Socks Big Band slides along with a strong team of passionate musicians behind it.
Since the beginning the band has brought out their colours in their socks and their programs. The first colourful socks stepped down at Dizzy’s jazz club in 2018 with a Valentine’s program to make hearts melt. Since then they have performed to a sell out crowd at the Melbourne International Jazz Festival and showcased their talents at the 2019 University of Melbourne Open Day.
3MBS
In addition to performance, Kit often presents on 3MBS Fine Music Melbourne, one of Melbourne’s leading community radio stations. He has filled in for Saturday Afternoon Concert, All That Jazz, Morning Recital as well as others.
When presenting Kit likes to share and promote the unusual and more personal facts about composers and compositions.
The latest quote Kit found interesting was about Dvorak’s Piano Concerto:
